Jib cranes have evolved. To make shots EVEN MORE impressive, productions are starting to use this kind of jib arm. It´s basically the same as a normal jib arm, except that the arm is retractable or expandable during a shot. This not only helps for new kind of shots, but it´s also helpful when the space or set to be used for a scene isn´t very big.

Grua Telescopica
La grua ha evolucionado. Para hacer tomas INCLUSIVE MAS impresionantes, las producciones están empezando a usar este tipo de grúa. Es básicamente lo mismo que una grúa normal, excepto que el brazo es retraible o expandible mientras se está haciendo la toma. Esto no solo ayuda para hacer nuevos tipos de toma, sino que también es muy útil cuando el espacio o el set para la escena no es muy grande.

A Jib Arm or Crane is very useful for shots that involve movement, height , stabililization or a combination of all. Consists in a arm (sometimes expandable: Telescopic_Crane) that lies on a tripod. On one side of the arm there is a head that supports the camera. This head sometimes has motors that allow the camera to move horizontally (Pan), vertically (Tilt) and change the horizon (Roll). On the other side of the arm there is a counterweight and the controls for the axis movements of the head (in case it has motors). Also, on top of the tripod there is a monitor for viewing the shot we´re making. Crane is often used in concerts, movies and TV shows. It gives you the effect of a flying or floating camera.

Una grúa es de gran utilidad para hacer tomas que involucran desplazamiento, altura, estabilidad o una combinación de estas. Consiste en un brazo (en ocasiones expandible: (Grua_Telescopic) que descansa sobre un tripié. En un extremo del brazo se encuentra el cabezal que sostiene la cámara. El cabezal a veces tiene motores que permiten mover la cámara horizontal (Pan) y verticalmente (Tilt) además de cambiar el horizonte (Roll). En el otro extremo del brazo se encuentra el contrapeso además de los controles para los movimientos en los ejes del cabezal (en caso que el cabezal tenga motores). Sobre el tripie también se sitúa el monitor para visualizar la toma que estamos haciendo. La grúa es muy usada en conciertos, películas y programas de TV. Da el efecto de una cámara flotante o voladora.
